Purpose: This study aims to determine schools' responses to the change from the K-13 curriculum to the Merdeka curriculum in Indonesia during the 2020–2025 period.
Design/Methodology/Approach: This study uses a qualitative approach, specifically a systematic literature review (SLR). The procedure in this study uses the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses) model. Data sources were obtained from Google Scholar, Garuda, and Science Direct for the period 2020–2025. A total of 21,000 journals were obtained, and data reduction was carried out using inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 25 journals to be reviewed. Data from the 25 selected journals were analyzed using thematic synthesis to group similar findings and school response strategies. The ultimate goal was to formulate a conceptual model or framework that comprehensively describes the responses and strategies of school actors in the transition from the 2013 Curriculum to the Merdeka Curriculum.
Results/Findings: Present the key results of the study. Summarize the main outcomes, patterns, or insights obtained from the analysis without interpretation or discussion.
Originality/Value: This study offers originality and value by integrating, comparing, and synthesizing findings from diverse scholarly sources into a comprehensive conceptual framework that explains how schools respond to curriculum reform. While previous studies typically focus on isolated aspects—such as teacher readiness, principal leadership, or student perceptions—this SLR bridges these fragmented insights into a holistic model.
